Services that are provided at the home with a therapist (Analyst or RBT) allows for your child to attend daycare or school. If your child is home-schooled and not in daycare, the therapist and the caregiver can negotiate the days and times of the week. The benefit of therapy in the home is that the therapist will be able to see the functions of the behavior while the child is in their natural environment. Parents and caregivers can watch and learn during the sessions. A therapist can enter the home as early as 7 a.m. and the latest that therapist will provide services in the home is 8 p.m. The biggest benefit of in-home ABA therapy is the opportunity to create a larger, loving, supportive network for your child.
Services that are provided in the school with a therapist (Analyst or RBT) allows for your child to receive the support needed to maximize their ability to be an active learner by creating customized strategies to effectively utilize social skills, communicate and engage in independent and small group classroom activities, and participate in school based activities in order for your child to be academically productive in school. The therapist and the parent can discuss this specialized need for the students and come up with viable hours the analyst can provide the school-based one-on-one with the student. A huge benefit of school-based ABA therapy is the opportunity to see the functions of the behavior while the child is in a school environment.
Services that are provided in the community with a therapist (Analyst or RBT) allows for the families to receive services at a local community center. If the home environment is not an ideal location, Dreams Academy of Florida is willing to "meet you where you are". This can be done on a temporary basis until the home environment restabilizes. A major benefit of community-based ABA therapy is the opportunity for the services to continue without a lapse in therapy. Also, the therapist (Analyst or RBT) is able to see the functions of the behavior while the child is outside of the home and school environment.
